Filipa Ferro - Projects

Short biography

In 2013, I completed the Integrated Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, branch of Management and Environmental Systems at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the NOVA University of Lisbon (FCT-UNL).

In the same year, I started to work in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (DCEA) of FCT-UNL in collective knowledge building processes, participatory and collaborative governance methodologies and environmental awareness and education, both in national and European projects (VoW, Grupo do Mar, MARLISCO, OPERAs).

With this experience, I developed skills in organisation and facilitation of events (exhibitions, seminars, conferences, participatory workshops), design of educational activities, awareness campaigns and dissemination and communication materials, writing of technical reports, preparation of applications for national and European funding and project development and management.

Since 2014, I have actively collaborated in several core activities of the Portuguese Marine Litter Association (APLM) and integrated the Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre (MARE).

At the end of 2015, I started collaborating with Mediatedomain, Lda. within the first participatory workshop of the European project CIMULACT - which aims to engage citizens and several other European actors in redefining the Research and Innovation European agenda - and in mid-2016 I joined the company as project manager. I also collaborate in the implementation of participatory processes, in the carrying out of training activities and in the development of partnerships.

Wishing to further expand the knowledge attained so far with practice, I am attending a professional training course on active participation and conflict mediation in complex projects of environmental protection.
